"kiddie code" is a great way of putting it! building sites for clients on occasion and such, I've had to get familiar with php and css. No doubt the more you learn, the more comfortable you'll be with things. That said, from a business perspective I'm a huge fan of team building and delegation. No matter how much you learn, you'll NEVER be able to learn everything you need. You have to get good at using resources beyond your own brain!

Many of the people I work with are owners of very small businesses (less than 10 employees), and to be perfectly candid, they just don't have any business taking on SEO, pro web design, etc. They have a business to run. Some of them instinctively know this. Some don't. It's important to know that having proficiency in HTML, etc is nice, but it's 100% optional! And lack of web programming knowledge is no reason at all to not dive in!

aww whats wrong with html and being nerdy :(

in fact is the only kind of programming i enjoy. i Don't even consider it programming anymore is more like "kiddie code". It should be thought in schools cuz it open a small window to analyticity thinking that so many lack (html showed me that computers are not that scary)

open up the .php files used on this website... now that's scary (and that's easy basic programming compared with apps and games and only getting more complex)

i wish i would understand complex stuff as easy as a nerd, am more of a geek wannabe :/

in the blond vs 5th grader, i sometimes feel like the blonde ..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEP7uti0PDw

about the social media i think i got some ideas to incorporate it

Jonathan - I like your commitment to FB. You know that platform well and have a lot to offer the people you work with. I agree...just in that one place there is huge opportunity.

Yes! Don't underestimate the value of small successes when you're starting. Each one builds upon the last. Keep em coming! Success builds, it snowballs! I know you're not scared Ally : )

I like the fact that you said it's a "Slow Bullet"

So many people jump on expecting big results when they don't even have a plan, goals, and a realistic idea of how it all works. It's a great time to get in and develop your base.

With all the mainstream press Social Media is getting there's no end in sight to the growth. Think about it...Facebook ---> Over 300,000,000 users. I'm confident that using Facebook alone you could generate enough business to throw away your offline marketing plan.

The key is to get in, get trained, and set goals.

Hi Christian,
Nope, social media does not scare me. I will have to wait for results patiently. At least people are reading my blog. That is the start, right?
