If I'm understanding you right Joe, it sounds very similar to what I've been doing for the past 4 years, and if that's the case it can work very well :) Seriously, it's tough to get companies to budge sometimes on all this social media hocus pocus, so a good alternative is to just go generate business for them and sell it back to them. It's a huge opportunity. I usually use an affiliate approach and get paid on actual revenue generated for the company. That way it's win-win all the way. There are different ways to do it though, and you should (obviously) make sure you do it all on the up and up. Get legal contracts in place, etc. But yeah, you're on a good track with that and i wish you the best...I hope you'll share your successes, and I'm happy to help however I can.

Quick question for you..Have been sales agent for a couple of businesses and have been talking to them about using social media to get the word out, interact, inform etc...

Neither business has moved, they're too busy etc..

What I'm thinking of doing, is creating web site(s) that would have this stuff and then charge them a fee on leads I find through the social media way...

Instead of trying to change their minds, I'll just try my template and charge them or charge % of what I sell etc...

Know there are other facets, but what do you think of the model..I know that blog, social media, articles, videos etc..will work, but instead of trying to build from scratch..use products/services I now represent and get paid that way..Sort of a freelance sales rep. with their own web site..??

Hope this makes some sense. Am I totally off on this or are their some parts that I could do that would be viable..

Thanks,
