Most people don’t do their homework. They latch onto rumors, overheard at cocktail parties, about this “hot, new, can’t miss, game changing, thingamijigee” and rush in head first, due diligence be damned.
I’ve done it in the past and have the battle scars to prove it. Your video was spot on. We need to examine ourselves before we dismiss the business opportunity.

I know, right? It’s crazy…I’ve seen this in the investing world too, especially with stocks. People are always looking for the “hot tips” and the “sure things”. No such thing. Great that you called it “due diligence”, because that’s exactly what it is. Research, introspection, a little bit more research. It’s worth the extra work!

I like what you said about learning something no matter what the business is. We put some kind of expectation on ourselves to be “successful” in business and forget how valuable each step of learning is. Would we really have learned how to walk faster if our mothers had put more pressure on us when we were young?
This discussion reminds me of something I read yesterday that made a lot of sense regarding the essence of a business plan.

I’m glad you like the videos! You make a great point of not overlooking how valuable each lesson is. Everyone wants fast results. I’m down with that. But by “results”, most people just mean “make money”…but if you’re learning lessons about how to run your business more efficiently and effectively, it is all going to add up to powerful income at some point. Don’t overlook the value of lessons when you’re first starting out.
