Thanks Thomas. I hope you do stick with it. It's easy to look at the very few blogs out there that are hugely popular and be made to feel as if you're doing something wrong simply because your numbers aren't the same. Your process can always be refined and improved upon to be sure, but that is the case for everyone...even the A-listers out there.

This isn't meant as anything against any other successful blogger out there. We're all playing our own game. It's important to build your blog on your own terms and for your own reasons. Don't assume you need x-amount of visitors or follow only the most common forms of monetizing. Every blog is different; one of the things I go through with clients so often is focusing on goals and then creating a custom plan for achieving them. The rules of what works for one type of blog are simply not the same as works in other industries. Small, locally-focused real estate blogs for example need to follow an entirely different plan than what works in the make-money-online space. Finding your own groove is essential.

Christian,

Great advice! Many of us bloggers can personally relate to this topic. I struggle with my blog every day. However, I know that nothing worth while in life is easily attained. So, thanks for the positive advice! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Clinton! You're right...I just wanted to publish this because it seems so many people get discouraged when they're right in the middle of making a difference. Too many people just quit too soon, you know? The fact that it's hard often just means it's worth doing.

It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You’re thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. -Thomas Watson Sr.

Great quote! Christian, I like your take on struggling in your business. In the beginning it all looks a lot easier than it is, as you find out. People who think business is a walk in the park...will give up at the first obstical. Educated entrepreneurs understand that obsticals are not only inevitable, but they are critical to self-growth. No obsticals, no growth.

"your blog is doing a lot more than you think it is…seriously." - I found this out recently. My blog is "holding out" for my online credibility. People have commented on how well I sell myself and how easy I am to find.
